Day 39: Praying to the God Who is Worthy of All Things

Praying in Jesus name means we pray in light of who He is, what He promises, and what He desires to do. Take some time today and pray in light of the following attribute of God.

Step 1. Reflect on His Character

God is Adonai. This name means “Master” or “Lord.” God as Adonai calls all of God’s people to acknowledge themselves as His servants, recognizing His right to command them as the Lord of their lives. 2 Samuel 7:18-20

Step 2. Rest in His Authority

The following verses reveal God as Adonai. Read these verses and identify promises that you can base your prayers on.

1 Chronicles 16:24-27, Psalm 18:1-3, Proverbs 16:7, Colossians 1:9-10, Revelation 4:11

Step 3. Run in His Passion

Many of us begin our prayers with the word “Lord”. Today as you pray, think about the meaning of that title. Ask yourself if He is really Lord over your life? Surrendering our life to His Lordship is easy when we truly understand that He alone is worthy to lead us and guide us. Surrender each area of your life today to Adonai, not our of obligation, but out of a a heart that He alone is worthy of every expression of your life.

Use this example as a guide to pray for the loved ones in your life. (Source Mom’s in Touch International)

God is worthy – One who has worth or value; honorable, admirable
We pray that __________ may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God. (From Colossians 1:10)
